    Cross-country trip planning software

I've done this with Google maps. I figure out how many hours or miles I want to be on the road and then search for sleeping locations near my proposed end.

    Newbie comms questions (HAM/GMRS/APRS)

My local truck stop CB shop went out of business a few years ago. This is probably the case across the country.

80 Series Land Cruiser Phone Mount Adapter

I've purchased from Land Cruiser Phil before. He's a good guy.

    Garmin Overlander

More important for hunters I suppose.

    Best starter GMRS radio?

    My Midland can access repeaters.

    Best starter GMRS radio?

I have a MXT275 with the 6dB antenna. So far no problems with receiving or transmitting.

    Pontiac Aztek "The Original Overlander?"

I will never forgive GM for killing Saab.

    GMRS

You should look into getting the Midland 6dB antenna. I live about 3 miles from work and often have my 275 scanning as I'm driving and can often hear a conversation on simplex pretty much the whole way home.

    Clean water tank refill

Are we talking about the U.S.? If so, most places on municipal water should be safe. If you don't want bad taste due to hoses get an RV water hose. A Camco water filter for RVs has a 20 micron filter to get rid of sediment and chlorine. Lots of truck stops on interstates have areas for RVs...

Don't you mean Camino Table Mesa Road?

    Comms on the road?

I used to have a CB in my Jeep. The only time I heard anything was when I drove by a truck stop that had an automated message and sometimes a crazy person with a high powered station that took over what ever channel he was on. I now have a ham radio in my truck. I have two states' worth of...

    Mounting items to cargo basket?

I've also seen people use these: I can't remember where I saw it but someone did a write up about adding these to their roof rack. If you're like me and Amazon links don't show up I posted a link to Lumax LX-1188 Silver 6.00" x 6.50" x 1.375" Shovel Bracket

    Mounting items to cargo basket?

I didn't know that. I'll have to check into that before I actually purchase some.

    Mounting items to cargo basket?

People use Quick Fists to mount shovels and such to the sides of the basket.

    Fishing Licensing

The only problem is that out of state licenses are much more expensive than in state ones. If you can get them online it would be a money saver since you could buy one when you actually needed it instead of buying one when you drive by a Walmart and then end up not using it.

    Sold $630,000.00

It's called a park trailer so it was probably intended to be put in a mobile home park and left there.

Relying on Paper Maps, Vehicle GPS, and Natural Instincts

This thread got me thinking about my GPS' so I opened Express my various units. The oldest one I have in Express is from 2014. I bought it a year or so ago from a thrift store and was able to plug it in and have it update. It took a while for the GPS to be seen by Express but it downloaded and...

    Which Paper Maps are Best???

For some reason they quit making these maps but Benchmark used to sell, for Arizona anyway, maps of the state divided into quadrants. Each map is double sided and goes into great detail. https://maps4u.com/products/arizona-northeast-road-map-benchmark-folded-maps-arizona?variant=18794827284576
