    Jeep Owners Represent!

I assume you mean Cape Point? OBX is one of my favorite places. In fact, took my KK there a couple months ago. I love driving the beaches in the banks, but I still need to check North & South Core off my list. One picture from Cape Point and one from Corolla: We’ve also been pretty lucky with...

    First Time Jeep Owner

TexasSailer, Do you have any info (maybe a link) on your rear hitch carrier? Looks like at least the hi lift is mounted to it and maybe the jerry cans? Thanks!

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

No problemo! I picked up that term somewhere along the way, probably a Ronny Dahl video on YouTube.

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

It’s just “swag” not “swag out”, as in “I’m sleeping in the swag.” It’s a single person ground tent. I believe the term swag comes primarily from Australia.

Have you experienced much rain in your Front Runner Flip Pop tent? I love the idea of a popup tent, but most of the ones I've looked at have horrible reviews regarding water intrusion.

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

Roots66, I see a lot of people mention price, but compared to options like a Kodiak Canvas or Oztent, rooftop tents aren't that far off. I can find Tepui Ayer 2 Ultralite and Smittybilt Overlander tents for ~$800. Compared to ~$500 for a Kodiak or ~$700+ for an Oztent, I'm looking at somewhere...

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

I'm new to the overlanding scene, and I'm trying to make some decisions about my rig/gear. I'll normally be by myself. My girlfriend may potentially tag along, but she'd prefer to take the camper (Coachmen Clipper 17FQ) if she's coming with me. So with all of the experience/knowledge in the OB...

4x4 Diesel Moto / Overland Van.

I'm tired from just reading about all the work that went into this van. This thing looks fantastic. A van is in my future.. just not sure when yet. I learned to drive in an Econoline, and I later drove Econolines and Sprinters for just shy of 10 years for work. It's been around 5 years since I...

    Show off your campsite

What area of the banks? I haven’t camped there yet (although it was basically camping a few years back when all of Hatteras and Ocracoke lost power), but we vacation there almost every year. In fact, we were down there September 22nd through the 29th this year. Driving on the beach down there...

Best mobile air compressor unit for Overland travel?

I almost went with a Harbor Freight compressor, but I decided to splurge on a Smittybilt 2780. It was significantly faster than my previous Slime brand compressor, which did work fine.. but slowly. I have not actually timed a tire fill though.

    Finding new adventures

Hi Overland Bound! My name is Matt. I’m from Ohio, and I have a love for just about anything with an engine. In the warmer part of the year, you’ll probably find me spending every available minute on one of my motorcycles, and in the winter, I’m typically wrenching on something in the garage or...
