    Chestnut Mountain Rd/Gorges State Park

Anyone know if this is still open for motor vehicle use? Last sign of anyone using it I could find was Oct. 2020 and then nothing. I checked their website but it’s fairly useless.

    The @nomorebaddays 2nd Gen Xterra

His first one was totaled and the green one is the replacement.

    A new hope.

Ask and you shall receive! This is on an Xterra but the frame and spare tire space should be the same on the Frontier. https://www.thenewx.org/threads/auxiliary-gas-tank-install-completed.244585/

2014 Nissan Xterra Build ZOMBIE HUNTER

It’s getting harder and harder to find clean ones. Also the cat appears to be out of the bag about the X’s capability and prices are rising. I’d hop on TheNewX.com and watch the classifieds there also there are several FB groups, Xterra and Frontier Yard Sale is one of the more active ones. Do...

    2011 Xterra S 6MT Build

Well, bad news, I was rear ended a few weeks ago and while the frame damage was minimal they totaled it out. Pulled off all me aftermarket stuff and will be picking up my replacement this weekend (hopefully!)

Interestingly enough my X was just totaled and I too was about to pull the trigger on a GX470 when I found an X I couldn’t pass up. Jealous of your color though. My new one will be (boring) silver but hey it blends in for highway speeding times!

    2010 Nissan Xterra Overland/Moderately Capable 4wheeling Build

You’re going to want to upgrade to a higher spring rate if you’re adding a RTT, bumper, etc. Honestly, I wouldn’t waste my time with the 5100s if you are adding a steel plate bumper. Just bite the bullet and buy full coil overs with higher rate springs. PRG just launched a fairly budget...

    2011 Xterra S 6MT Build

Hey Mike, I got it from WAM. Super pleased with their turnaround. I think I got it in less than a week from order to delivery that was pre Covid though. Not sure if that's had any impact with those guys.

    Anyone building a Dodge Dakota

I built one back in ‘09, a ’98 sport. Loved that thing. Manual everything. However, it was having issues 10 years ago I can’t imagine what it would take to keep one on the road today.

Fair enough. I just remember my previous rig eating ball joints after I installed my full plate bumper. I got to be a pro at swapping them out since it require new ones roughly once a year lol!

    2011 Xterra S 6MT Build

Small update. I had been eyeballing a Factor 55 prolink shackle for some time and found a vendor clearing inventory. Picked it up for right at half the typical retail. Only catch was it had to be silver, which wasn’t my first choice. That being said for the price I’d go with just about any...

    north carolina camp sites

I’d consider Uwharrie as central N.C. but it does have some good spots for camping. OP are you looking for amenities or primitive camping? If the later, the National forests in the mountains (Pisgah and Nantahala) allow for some sort of primitive camping. Rules vary by ranger district so do...

Mount for the win! In all honesty, it depends if it’s a daily or not. A full steel bumper is nice for the better angles but chips away at liveablity for day to day use. You’ll also need to upgrade to heavier springs to deal with the weight. I also like the stealth aspect of the mount. If done...

This. That doesn’t look anywhere near bad enough to total it, unless there’s frame damage.

Uwharrie Trail Cleanup Ride Nov 9th

You’d be fine on the majority of trails there. You might walk away with some pinstriping but my 98 Dakota with 2” of lift and 32” tires used to make it through no problem. Likewise my Xterra with 1” of lift and 32” tires makes it no problem.

I picked mine up (2011 MT) a year ago as well. It’s probably because the X is arguably the best value modern SUV right now. Simple enough that you can still wrench on it (also reliable), new enough that you can pick them up with less than 50k on the clock, cheap enough that you don’t need a 10...

    2011 Xterra S 6MT Build

Alright last post and we’re all caught up to how she sits currently. I’m not a big light guy but during a recent trip I was going to have to make a night run to pick up some friends. Added these LED combo spot and flood lights. They’re Amazon cheapies but certainly performed fine. I also...

    2011 Xterra S 6MT Build

No problem! You may also be able to build a slightly raised platform (3-4”) that can fold flat then build pull out tables for cooking and such. That would be easier than a full height platform but may limit storage.
