If your on FB, check out SMS Overland (Show Me State). They have a good size group that hit the trails all over MO frequently. From meet & greets, to weekend trips in and around the entire state. Sometimes they drop into AR, and sometimes they join up with other groups on week long trips out of...
HellBent performance in Chesterfield will work on anything. Like most shops, they push the Jeep brand, as that is the most popular for bolt on mods. Doesn't mean they won't work on other brands. They will do things that Axleboy won't touch.

I attended the Smorr meet a couple weeks ago. Had a great time, met a bunch of friendly people from SMS Overland, and wheeled 2-3's all day Saturday with one of the groups. They did an awesome job for it being their first meet there. Next years will be even better.
A small group of us went to SW CO for a week. Camped in Ouray, and hit the Mnt trails around the area.
I-70 westbound was shut down after Denver due to the fires, so we took the more scenic route, by dropping down to CO Springs, then SW across the state from there.
Had to stop in Colby KS for...

The Timbren 3500HD can only be used with a 6 lug hub & 12" brakes. These are actually a 6000 lb axle.
The 3500 will be able to use a 5 lug with 10" brakes. These are a 3500 lb axle, and are 2" narrower than the HD version.
Running wheel adapters to make the 6 lug work on a 5 lug...

Yeah sorry about that. Unfortunately when your not a logged in member, all that advertisement shows up. I forgot how much of it there is, since I am not only a member, I am a Moderator and see no adverts at all.
I added a few basic pictures on the previous post, with the build thread link for you.
Here is a link to the build thread. Hundreds of pictures and detailed info.

To each their own. What works well for one, doesn't for another. The fun part in this hobby, is we get to do it how we want, and/or change it as we go.
My reason for having the box between the wheels, is for protection on the trails. It helps with Off camber rocking into objects and for brush...
Looks nice and light weight! Is that electrical conduit tube?
I finished mine and installed it a while back. After seeing yours, You would hate it.
It's big, heavy, and holds tools, besides gear & a 270* awning. Not to mention the Electrical system on it that supplies 2 Aux ports and 296...
Thanks!
In the link I posted, it takes you to the build thread. There are tons of pictures, and explanations on almost everything that was done to it.
Solar panels are fixed to aluminum angles, with Z brackets from Renogy. Angles are bolted to slides. Once the setup is bolted up, you can...
Weight, and paint maintenance mainly. Will take abuse sliding items around, and maintenance free, sounds good to me!!
I have expanded on the trailer tongue and I know its going to need paint maintenance. Lol
It will have 6 sq tubes bracing under it for support underneath. I have 3 round...
Couldn't agree with you more on the costs of these fancy racks being sold today. Why buy, when you can make your own? I know, not everybody can, but for those of us that can, heck yeah!
I just made my roof rack sketch to figure/order materials myself. I can add what I want, where I want, and...
New member here, but been off grid vehicle camping since before it was referred to as Overlanding. I started with a 34' Ford Coachman in the 80's, then a conversion van in the 90's. Made due with trucks after the turn of the century, and transitioned into SUV's mid 2000, with ground tents. I...

Not many Ford lovers here in the sea of overland taco's. Thank you for sharing. Love them sliders! Looking forward to your updates on this new rig!
@El Capitan Sounds great! We will work something out over time and make this happen eventually! Need to see when and where others are going here, and make a plan of action.
We are already planning for Ouray area late Aug 2020, but would like to get something going for April/May 2020 somewhere...
Just outside of STL, MO and just joined this group looking for like minded folk, that aren't into building beaters, just to destroy within a years time woods wheeling. Been there, and done with that.
I still hit the off road parks but mainly to test new mods and camp out. I started going to...
Another new guy here from the middle of the country. Been kicking it around the Midwest for 50 years or so, and if I'm lucky, I get to haul my junk to far off destinations every now and again. I'm here to learn from others, help when I can, and hopefully share in the fun.
STL, MO
