Nice trip. Next time you're between Hwy 27 & 71, take a visit to "Old Forrester". Google it for directions. A little east of 71 just off 28. Its an old sawmill town with a very interesting history.
Google "Topaz", which is, or used to be a small town/community near Ava, Mo. There is an old mill and store still there. Find it and plan a visit there. I promise you, you want be disappointed. And if the owners nephew is there, you
will be spending a half a day there. Trust me on this...
OP here. Actually I did not buy either. I was ready but my wife was not sure. So for vacation in SW Colorado, we ended up renting a Off Grid Expedition 2.0 for 5 or 6 days. It was a very nice, well build rig. Pulled easy and was well equipped. I liked everything about it. But my wife...
There are plenty of NF roads north of Russellville. You might go north on Hwy 7 thru Dover a few miles, then left on 164, then right on Old Hwy 7 towards Longpoll NF Campground on the Piney. But about 3 miles before Longpool take a right on the gravel/NF road and go north to an old community...
Got a trip out west coming up in a couple of weeks, mid Sept. I've not decided on exactly where to go. We will be driving a Chevy ZR2 and pulling a
Off Grid Expedition 2.0, so rough roads should not be a problem.
So I've always wanted to visit Green River Lakes. Thought we might camp up...
While there is plenty of National Forest north of Hot Springs, Highway 7 north to Ola, AR. Just not a lot there, quite a lot of NF gravel roads and plennty of pull off spots to camp, just not my idea of a great camping place. If you want in the Ouachita's, better to be just east of Mena on...
Nice looking trailer. But if you don't want to use a RTT to sleep in, but want to use the main cabin for sleeping. Would the rear doors be a asset or a henderence? Or would it be possible
to build a wall inside the rear doors at the end of the mattress, and then build shelves/drawers like...
I was looking at these trailers on the inter web. Nice looking but I had a couple of issues. First I want to carry a couple of fishing kayaks. It does looke like these will carry them with a pair of crossbars installed. The problem is getting the back hatch door open with kayaks mounted...
They are in biz and currently 3 months out. I did'nt have much luck in contacting Off Grid myself. Called and called, left messages, no responce.
I had more luck and got info from Ken @ 10X Campers and Gear in Co. I believe there is a Overland Expo or meet in Gunnison, Co going on now, Aug...
I’m thinking about an OG trailer myself. But I’ve not seen one in person so it’s a little hard to spend $30,000 and I’ve never seen one. So we’ve found one to rent for a few days in Co in Sept to see how we like it.
They are the best looking out there if they have the features you want...
Into The Wind or Off Grid Trailer???
Looking to buy a loaded out teardrop trailer. After a lot of enet research, I think I’ve got it narrowed down to these two. The both tick all the right boxes. I’ve not seen either on in person. Anyone had a chance to see both in person? Perhaps at a...
