I am looking at a mid-week trip to Rothrock in late July. It looks like there are some roadside options that would be perfect for a night or two. I'll definitely be looking into a paper map. I'm not sure how great service is out there, but if Michaux is an example, it ain't great!
I'm heading out with the boys this weekend! Going to jump on somewhere southeast of Millville, work our way up to Wharton SF, camp for the night, and then head up and around Brendan T. Byrne. I'm working on getting the trail GPX reformatted to a KML so I can have it accessible on my google maps...
Thanks. It seems like the area restrictions are easing up- you'd think that outdoor camping in the middle of the woods would be one of those restrictions that might see some letting up.
I'm in Northern DE. I'm doing a few sections of the MABDR over Memorial Day weekend. I'm starting to nail down camping locations along Sections 4, 5, 6, and 7.
Jumping all into this thread. I just convinced my wife of the practical purposes and number of problems this set-up would solve. We love tent camping, but being on the ground isn't always fun. An RTT directly on the vehicle limits mobility once we make camp... Also, we have a 2.5 Subie, so you...
Yeah, I haven't had much luck finding State Parks that have the type of off-road access we might be looking for. I was trying to see if there were any forest or service roads in or around the Pocono/ Delaware Water Gap area, and it appears there might be one or two, but they are seasonal at...
Going to be keeping an eye on this. I'm in Delaware, so at some point depending on your route, you'll be coming my way. Maybe we could coordinate a meet-up spot and head in to DC together.
I like the phrase "purpose-built," and I'm sure I've already used it once or twice here. That's, in my mind, what it comes down to- my Subaru can be built for a purpose, while Jeeps are (at least they used to be) purpose-built. Caveat being that I haven't driven a Wrangler since my 04 TJ...
Hey guys! I'll add my 2014 Outback to the registry. I read the first page, and then jumped to the last page to post, but I'm really interested in seeing what other OBW owners have done to their wagons to make them more overland worthy. Mine, like many of yours I'm sure, is my DD, so while I wish...
Thanks for the input! Pine Barrens is definitely on the list, as well. You're right in with line my train of thought though- smaller, quick trips to whet the appetite and make sure everyone really enjoys it as much as they say they do before we head out for three or four days.
Hey all. I'm Brad and I'm in Wilmington, De.
I'm trying to get my boys more involved in outdoors exploring. We do our fair share of camping, and even more so this year as our one respite from being stuck in the house. They love dirt roads and slow backcountry driving with the occasional mud...
Hi, I'm Brad. I'm in Delaware.
I've been an off-road enthusiast for as long as I've known how to push three pedals, but never given much thought to overlanding until a few years ago. I've had a bunch of Wranglers in my days, a few four wheel drive trucks, an Xterra Pro-4X, and currently a 2014...
