I would not trust a build guide that was based on various youtube builds, unless the goal was to burn through my life savings and own a bunch of unnecessary stuff.
Ooof. 4 people in a RTT doesn't sound like fun to me.
I think some sort of full size 4 door truck will be your golden ticket with your needs. I say truck because you can put the monster 4 person RTT on a lower profile bed rack without wrecking the vehicles center of gravity like on a SUV. I...
I don't know what climate control your PW has, but I have been satisfied with this 10" Android radio replacement in my 2014 Tradesman with manual climate control. Most importantly, it has buttons which a majority of Android based radios are lacking. It fits cleanly between the HVAC vents and...
Welcome. Unfortunately activity here on OB has dropped off significantly the past couple of years, so there isn't much goin on for those of us in the flyover states.
If you are a Facebook user, search out Konza Overland. It's a small group of [primarily] Kansas based folks who enjoy what we all...
You will likely never regret building a smaller trailer when pulling it down a trail.
You will likely never regret building a larger trailer when it is time to fall asleep.
Carefully analyze your realistic use, what you need to be successful, what your rig's ability to comfortably pull a...
Neat build! It looks like you are following the initial concept plan closely. It's always nice when a plan comes together. I look forward to following the rest of the build.
All of that grinding dust/residue on the floor reminds me of my own trailer build. I like your articulating hitch.
Kansas... it would be nice out if it wasn't for the wind.
Kansas... it's not that bad.
Welcome... from Kansas!
I love wandering around Kansas because you rarely encounter other people.
If you want to connect with other Kansas folks, check out the Konza Overland facebook group.
I asked AI to photographically represent how the San Miguel County Sheriff feels about overlanders in his county. San Miguel County is where Telluride, CO and Black Bear pass are located.
Holy smokes!
I recently bought a stock double cab first gen Tundra and have been blown away with how smooth it rides, even unloaded. It is comparable to my wife's stock Land Cruiser 200.
I am a big fan of the Quad Lock mount system, especially when coupled with RAM mounts. I've been running a Quad Lock mount with wireless charging on my dual sport motorcycle for 5 years for my phone and have recently moved to their magnetic system for my Land Cruiser. Their system does require...
I just picked up this 2014 Starcraft Comet 12RT pop up camper toy hauler. Due to the rugged nature of this pup I figured I will record my modifications and uses of it here. Although this trailer is not really what I consider an overland trailer, it is close and will complement "Yeller" nicely...
2003 vs 2024.... 21 YEARS!!!!! holy smokes!
Since I am a sucker for progress pics, the next challenge is the same. Lets see more before and after photos of your rigs!
Wow, five years later and my lighting has changed a bit. LED's, HIDS's, Floods/fogs/spots, Oh my! It's still a simple and understated lighting setup compared to most.
The Exped mat in my ARB RTT is wider than the original mattress by a couple of inches. It fits inside the tent without a problem. I like that the Exped mat is shorter than the original mattress since it leaves a place for my shoes inside the tent by the door.
