Finished trip and trail is great. Did the trail in 3 days. Four days would be optimal if you want to spend some time hiking during the days. Mojave River was about 18” higher than normal, due to recent rains, about 40”-48” deep in the middle. Cross the river “hugging” the left side. I crossed...

FWIW-looks like Feb 6-10 are the dates, if others would like to join us.

Lippincot Mine Road is very “doable” compared to Steele Pass. Scotty’s Castle road is open from the North West to , eventually, Eureka Dunes but not NE to Hwy 95.

Check out a map of DV first. Steel Pass had some “fun sections” when I ran it in the spring. Make sure your rig is equipped with “sliders” and “diff guards “. The map above oversimplifies the routes by not showing “secondary roads/trails”. It takes a lot longer than you would expect.

Hey there. I work in Sacramento and wanted to do a “warm” overland trip in Jan or Feb. I’m not sure I would call the Mojave Trail “warm” in Feb but should be doable. How many days do you have for the overland trip? Regards, Michael
