    In Hot Pursuit

This is the life of everyone who lives in Northern Canada. It's pretty much guaranteed you will get a cracked windshield every single winter lol.

2006 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4wd SLT - "Rumble"

Rumble got some new side view mirrors, now with folding action! I didn't realize when I bought them that these particular ones lack the power folding mechanism :( oh well, not a huge deal, but my truck no longer has power adjustable mirrors.

    McLean creek winter camping trip

Bit of an old thread, but I live near ardrossan. 2006 Dakota with a 2" lift on 33's. Done a bunch of cool trips since moving to Alberta. Cheers!

    Winter Wheeling/Overland

My sleep system for the minus double digits is a three bag system - a fleece sleeping bag liner, inside a sleeping bag, inside another sleeping bag. The rating on the outer bag is -5c, the inner bag is I think +5c comfort rating, and the liner, I have no idea, but when combined, I was able to...

2006 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4wd SLT - "Rumble"

Not entirely unexpected, but the rear uprights on the bed rack have stress cracked in the same spot as the front ones: So I enacted a quick and dirty solution with some metal angle I had laying around: Seems to have completely eliminated any flex in the rear end of the rack, in addition to...

    Epic Tacoma Walk-around

Awesome setup! You are clearly a guy who thinks outside the box. Love it.

Can't use the app properly - buttons overlaid by the phone controls

Forgot to mention, I tried reinstalling the app to no avail.

Can't use the app properly - buttons overlaid by the phone controls

I have a Moto G5 phone, and recently, after a system update, I can't use the app functions properly because all the buttons on the bottom ribbon of the app are superimposed by the three default phone controls (the back arrow, the circle and the multi windows button, whatever they're called)...

    The Perfect Camp Stove

Hey, I mistyped, I meant to say Prince Rupert! Sorry about that lol PG is definitely nowhere near this.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Last campout of the summer. It was a bit smoky, but what a spectacular camp spot!

Go for it, brother! Northern BC is an amazing place. I would love to get back there myself. While you're there, you should do the Telkwa Pass as well!

    The Perfect Camp Stove

It's at the southern end of Work Channel Inlet, just east of Prince Rupert. The FSR to get there was previously called Work Channel FSR, but they changed it to Lackmack FSR I think. Google still had it as the old name when I went.

    The Perfect Camp Stove

I'm surprised to see multiple guys say they prefer a single burner stove. I have a couple of single burners, one flat square coleman that takes the bottle style butane sideways in the end, and another backpacker style stove that screws on top of the round cannisters. I love the backpacker one...

    Epic Tacoma Walk-around

Sweet rig. I also like that fold over the front tent on the white truck. Softshells aren't my thing so much, but I like that arrangement.

    Roaming Lost: x3 Locked 1990 Toyota HDJ81 (80 Series)

This build is so sick it needs an ambulance, and it's so minty fresh you'd think it was a peppermint patty. Absolutely LOVE IT.

    The Perfect Camp Stove

For context, when I first googled it, the price came up as $1950, which is frankly insane. I edited my first reply to note this, which you understandably probably didn't see. $459 is WAY more reasonable; at that price, I would even possibly consider getting one, although not sure I would settle...

This might also be a good option: https://gsioutdoors.com/products/pinnacle-pro-2-burner-stove Just happened to be searching camp stoves as inspired by this thread! Anyone running one of these who can comment?

    The Perfect Camp Stove

Does it just have some kind of massive BTU output or something? Running on the same stuff, so the only real difference in cook time would have to come from a bigger/more intense burner. I have to say, I've never felt like I had to wait too long using my Coleman. Boils the water for my morning...

    The Perfect Camp Stove

Looks like a great little unit, from what I saw, but that price tag! YIKES! My first 4x4 cost less than that! At that price, I'm sticking with my good old reliable $20 Coleman stove lol EDIT: The first price I found when googling this stove was $1950! I just re-checked it and found $459 - much...

    First Experience Camping - Canada

I was going to say almost exactly this. A similar idea is something called a "Deadman Anchor," which is basically a super strong bag-like thing with recover straps at the corners that you bury in the ground (usually intended for sand, I believe) with the strap loops sticking out, and you can...
