WinterBus 1991 Mitsubishi Delica L300 Space Wagon Chamonix

So quite a summer has just flown by. Back in June, I loaded my boys up and we meandered south and east to the Grand Canyon. I ran across the canyon and then we drove back. My journal is about half full of fixes and work done, but some of the highlights are: Repaired the exhaust (although I...

Sure thing, FRAM CAK253 Finned Vaned Air Filter. They get used in a lot of diesel applications and you can take that part number and find interchange on your favorite brand.

    Overland Bound Northwest Regional Meet-up - 09/22/2018

I'd love to come down for this, but I fear I may be headed to Bend the following weekend. Consider me a definite maybe.

WinterBus 1991 Mitsubishi Delica L300 Space Wagon Chamonix

Guess it's been a while since I updated. Last month completed a 7,000 kilometer road trip into and then back out of the desert south west. The van did well while exposing a few failure points. The tail pipe finished rusting off in southern Idaho. My solution was to customize it with a Dole...

Puget Sound Overland and Coffee at Mule Expedition Outfitters - 04/28/2018

Would you all be interested in spending some time on my island? There's not a lot that's not paved, but plenty to see and I've done similar sorts of meet-ups near island center.

Puget Sound Overland and Coffee at Mule Expedition Outfitters - 04/28/2018

Howdy folks, Sorry, I showed up so late, but it was great to meet you all face-to-face. Spent the rest of the morning after you all left talking about a rack with Joe and thinking about projects. Let's do this again!

    Gell-In: North West Delica Meet-Up

Oh sorry Merk. Missed your question. One Delica driver (other than me) showed up on a very stormy February morning. Come on out, I'd love to see more OB rigs on the island. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

I've stopped competition, but I live to run. My longest are 100+ segments of the PCT. High country is better than low. YMMV Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Last summer was indeed unusually bad, but as with any fire season we'll have to wait and see how it plays out. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Oh yeah, one more thing. The fuel lifter pump cable came loose from the IP throttle control arm. I was driving around wondering why it was such a gutless wonder until I realized this had happened. Simple fix, replace the nut and bolt that connects the two together and suddenly power.

Updates: Turn Signal Relay: went bad late in February. I troubleshot this all on my own and ended up replacing the relay which is located behind the glovebox. Took about three weeks to get the new part in from Japan. The good news is that it was the relay (my diagnosis was spot on) and so not I...

    Overland/emergency prep...

Car ownership tend to work well for this IMO. We live on a little island in the Sound which sees routine wind storms fall, winter and spring. Power loss is a real possibility here. Instead of buying a dedicated generator to keep things going when the lights go dark I use my van and an inverter...

    Help me choose a rig!

+1 for boxy-but-good. I've gone on serious pilgimrages with only 2wd. A RTT on that and a good bike rack hanging off the rear bumper would be Moab worthy ... unless the 4x4 experience is actually what you're after. If that's the case spend money, much more money, because one thing you don't want...
