Seattle area astrophotography meet and campsite cleanup, - 04/07/2018

Weather looks pretty shit as of now. The road will require at least 35s and lockers to get to the site, a significant amount of snow is on the road. The event will be likely postponed to a future date.

@FJTim The meeting location beforehand is the qfc in town. You can also choose to meet at the site if you can't meet up in time for the convoy out there. There should be plenty of room for people it seems. @Boort thanks for all the information, you've definitely helped out. I'm gonna...

There might still be snow at that elevation, but not enough to make it impassable. Me and some friends recently took a stock 88 Audi Quattro out there, and with some mild scraping it made it ok. CB's are encouraged for banter while on the road convoy, but not necessarily needed. I'd say...

There might still be snow at that elevation, but not enough to make it impassable. Me and some friends recently took a stock 88 Audi Quattro out there, and with some mild scraping it made it ok. I'd say just plan on being cold, and staying up late. This site is deep in the Alpine lakes...

yes, the destination is blackhawk mine. it is a somewhat large cleared out lot where large trucks used to turn around, with excellent south facing visibility. the area should be good for 12 trucks camping, but not too much more.

Mixing synthetic oil and conventional oil

for what it's worth, most synthetic oils are an API grade 3 synthetic, and not a true synthetic, like most castrol synthetics. grade 3's only have to be 30% synthetic to use the term legally. mix those all you want with shitty oil. grade 4 synthetics are a poly-alpha-olefin and is a 100%...

The real problem is how fast nature reclaims these areas, as a lot of the mines were in operation til the...
