Mojave desert in the rain. Stay home or full speed ahead?

I decided to just postpone to next week. There is a high wind warning of 70 mph gusts. Not exactly the kind of thing I’d want to be in for my first time in Mojave. Rain and snow doesn’t bother me but wind does… so next week it is! No big deal

Mojave desert in the rain. Stay home or full speed ahead?

Hi! I’ve planned a 6 day Mojave desert trip for this 23rd to 28th. So a Thursday to Tuesday. The weather channel is saying a 30 percent chance of rain on Thursday and Friday and a 90% chance of snow on Saturday. My question is, is the Mojave a place you want to avoid in the rain/snow? Do you...

I found this interesting tent online, the Quechua 2 Second Easy 3 person tent found at this link Quechua 2 Second Easy Fresh & Black, Waterproof Pop Up Camping Tent, 3 Person It sort of just looks like two umbrellas stitched into a tent. Was wondering if anyone has thoughts on which one would...

How does one "erase" an illegal trail bypass?

It’s funny because it’s an obstacle after the “difficult” section which is just mild 4-5/10 rock crawling. It’s basically just a tree root going across a semi decent rut. It can be more difficult depending what time of year you go. But it’s just annoying people don’t even bother to attempt the...

How does one "erase" an illegal trail bypass?

Good point! I’ll contact the forest service about the trail. See if they know about it and would be ok with rocks being used as barriers

How does one "erase" an illegal trail bypass?

Good idea, large rocks certainly are a bit easier and more accessible than a large log. However a large log would cover much more ground

How does one "erase" an illegal trail bypass?

A local trail to me, has an obstacle that isn't particularly difficult but those who are unprepared drive straight through a meadow that is not allowed to be driven through, a sign even informs them that it is illegal yet people still do it and there is a clear enough path through. How could I...
