The Off-road Skid Package I was talking about was 1/8” plate steel. Not plastic skid plates, but actual metal skids. I’ve hit them pretty hard on some knarly rocks and gouged them a couple of times pretty deep, but they didn’t bend, nor did the aluminum transmission or transfer case take any...
I have half the roof yours does :) but honestly I have no idea where the extra weight is at, unless your frame is all boxed in, my frame rails are only boxed in inside the engine compartment, everything else is channeling.
I had ‘07 TB it had skids under the engine and transfer case. I think it also had a small skid on the transmission, although I don’t remember for sure... I just remembered the engine and t-case for sure because I temper how much of a pain it was to take them off when doing an oil change and...

Shortbus has a First Gen Bronco...The 6th gen orders aren’t even being received yet. The order process starts next week. And first shipments will start around March/April. The Special Editions will most likely be hitting the streets in July.
I drive a full size Bronco (similar in size to the K-5 Blazer). I got it to replace my Jeep. It does everything a Jeep can, but better. I can haul more and be way more comfortable than the 2006 TJ I had ever could.
I would look for an 86-92 XJ with a bad head, swap the head to a late model year head and gain a few HP. Look for one with the NP242 Transfer case. Not as much aftermarket support as the NP231 transfer case, but it gives you the All Wheel Drive option wich really works great in the snow...

Summit Radio Inc - CB Radio Shop they have pretty decent reviews. And looks like they do installs as well.
The location is a huge problem... try getting 1/4-1/2” wide grounding braid and run it from the tire mount to your body, then body to frame. This is called “bonding”. This allows your whole body to be part of the ground plane.
Adjusting antennas is actually very easy. You need an SWR meter...
The guy didn’t purposefully shut off the engine, he stalled the engine...
and every good mechanic knows the wd-40 stays on the shelf. It’s the worst thing to put onto metal for any reason.
