Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Heading west, leaving Kansas (which at least didn’t try to kill me this year…) for Colorado. Looking forward to Independence Day in the Rocky Mountains!
I grew up on a farm in a rural area, so I was no stranger to exploring the woods, but we never camped . When I was 11 years old, our dad took us to Colorado. We roadtripped the state and visited Rocky Mountain National Park. I ran up 12K foot alpine trails in a pair of Keds like it was nothing...
Very interesting!

Badlands NP is interesting, but not really a multi-day destination. Check for dispersed camping in the grasslands near the prairie dog town, adjacent to the Pinnacles entrance. Stop for pics at Wall Drug, drive thru Custer State Park, see Deadwood (Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane’s graves)...
Hey, did you happen to camp in Rocky Mountain National Park a couple years ago in June? There was a trailer with that same graphic. I remembered the design because it looked so cool!
I’m fine with the occasional campfire for social gatherings. However, numerous days/nights camping in smoky conditions due to wildfires, once packing up late and fleeing due to the choking smoke and once a forced evacuation, have made me appreciate clean air. I even had to wash my down sleeping...
