I have rode out several thunderstorms in my tent. The key to keeping it dry is making sure you have all the stays in the rain fly. If you don't do that it will pool water above the annex room. The rip stop the rest of the tent is made of turns water really well. I have not had any water actually get in the tent in any of the rain storms I have weathered in it.

Packing it up wet has not been an issue either still packs up well. I carry a box fan with me just for this reason when I get to the next camp I use some Gear Ties to tie the fan in the entry of the tent to drY it out.
