Back story.

We had a few jeeps previously. Loved our 2011. Should have kept it but never. Got a 2015 and it was only ok since it was stock and we never went anywhere in it. Had a crap job, no time off, life got in the way then the pandemic hit so we off loaded it.

We are now in an F150 that is ok, but it's not a jeep. We miss it. We loved packing it up going up in the back country for an adventure. We miss the Jeep community, we miss the tinkering and making it ours.

We are going to be purchasing another new to us wrangler this summer. We are building a new small house with a small piece of property and downsizing everything. We are going to have more funds, time and opportunities available to us then.

Yes I will swear on it but at the end of the day it will be what we need to get our old life back to traveling, in the woods camping, mtb, kayaking etc. We have not done that since the previous jeep has sold.

We NEED our life back!

We love our Rubicon JKU, yes they have their issues, but so does every other vehicle. We have found doing proper maintenance, learning what are common fail points are and being proactive with fixing them before failure, and being religious on after trip inspections has left us with what we feel is a reliable off highway vehicle that we are comfortable taking on long solo trips. We also have had our travel time taken away these past few years with some serious health issues on my part and an change of work schedule on Michelle's part. This year we just taking the time to get out as life is short! Best of luck to your travels and an new Jeep in the family:)

If you go back through the annals of time here you will find our old JKU we had. it was a mango tango Sport. I had full teraflex suspension on it, 33s great lighting, a bunch of interior stuff etc. It was the most fun vehicle we have ever owned. We had some life kick us a couple of times, and now we are wanting our old life back.
The jeep will give us alot of those feelings back. CAN NOT WAIT!

Show off! I am in the middle of remod on the retirement house, as soon as we are able to live in it, I am retiring and will finish it myself, BUT it is a ways away from now to get there....... Funds are not abounding like before having 2 mortgages and blah blah blah...... But there is progress!

I sure hope you get to the lifestyle of before, and fast LOL.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Jim

We are living in a 30ft trailer for the summer until a house shows its' face for us. The banks here now are way to strict with builders mortgages so we have to wait and purchase a ready built property. doh. ha ha. We are going to be back on the dirt asap!

ha welcome back to the club! i've had my JK Unlimited since 2015 and every time i think about trading it for something practical i end up spending the money on another mod instead. the wrangler just has that thing where nothing else feels right once you've owned one. what year are you looking at? the 2018+ JLs are really nice but honestly the JK platform is so well supported at this point that you can build one into an absolute overland beast for way less money. either way you're gonna love it.
