Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

New to the forum but not new the overlanding. In high-school used to go into the woods in our trucks and camp. Done trips on my bike, colorado and most recently my Raptor that I built. Definitely experienced.

Sold the bike and colorado but my rig now is my 2010 Raptor. From PA but moved to Boise, ID to he closer to outdoor lifestyle.
Hello and welcome to the OB family.

Hi all, another newcomer!
Im Tony, done a bit of off road over the years, but 'overlanding' is a new thing to me.
I've a lot to get sorted first, but the plan, as it stands is UK-Morocco in my 1974 88" Series 3 Landrover , staying Off-Road as much as I can.
Currently this isn't much more than an idea, but working on changing that.
Anyway enough waffle from me, here's a photo of the truck from a few years back.

Hi Tony,

Welcome to Overland Bound! Great Landy!

I am one of the OB Ambassadors in Europe. @Polaris Overland is based in the UK and he could point you towards the nearest Local Expert to you.. Please do not hesitate to contact him or me for questions regarding Overland Bound, and the App or information regarding overlanding.

Local information for any of the OB regions can also be found in the Overland Bound by region forum. Each region has its own sub-forum. UK, for example, belong to the region Western Europe. So, this link leads to the West Europe subforum. Feel free to introduce yourself to your local area here. Regarding your trip you might also find useful information at the OB Map.

Please take a look at the Rally Points for planned events. There you can filter by region. There are plenty of meetups planned for 2025 for Europe already and more to come.

We also do a virtual campfire once a month, there are always members from many regions of Europe. Will schedule the next one soon. This is a relaxed online talk about overlanding, trip plans, gear, everyday life and more with like-minded people. Just join us next time if you like.

If you have any other questions just ask, please. Always happy to help.

Safe travels,

Bjoern

Hi Michele,

Welcome to Overland Bound!

Greetings from Europe,
Bjoern

Another newbie to the forum, and somewhat newbie to the overlanding life. When I was younger, before cell phones and always connected was a thing, I'd get together with friends to get out away from the city and go explore the woods then life happened with marriage, kids, mortage, the whole shebang. Kids were graduating and I finally got my Jeep in late 2019 to start building, just in time for the world to shutdown, so I started building. Most parts were sourced second hand because it was faster and easier to buy locally from FB marketplace and CraigsList. I'm also into ham radio, so the Jeep is getting built to support multiple hobbies and activities.

I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions, after I lurk through some of the other sections and see what information I come across.

Mostly sticking to the Columbia River Gorge area, for now, where my wife and I re-located to in late 2022 to let her Mom and Aunt age in place in my wife's childhood home. Pictures from the Bigfoot 200 trail run doing communications support in August 2025, in the Gifford Pinchot NF.

It's a 2008 JKU Sahara manual trans with a 2" suspension lift (not spacers), Smittybilt 9500# winch, Smittybilt side bars and cage rack. There's a spare tire rack and setting up for some Rotopax water and fuel cans along with a space to carry my recovery boards, shovel and Pulaski along with any other 'necessities' that don't fit well inside.
