Thanks @oldsoldier181 that’s some great info. I tested my GMRS out the other day in some not ideal but realistic environments and was getting about 1.5 to 2 miles range with the setup in my pictures and the other radio was a handheld FRS on channel 4, this environment is heavily wooded and very...
@zgfiredude had already brought this up yesterday but still great advice. So I will move the antenna up and not cut the cable any shorter, start there and I also ordered a new taller antenna for giggles yesterday. I will give this a shot as well. Thanks folks for the ideas!
This is a picture of the antenna setup and I had to open the slot on the steel antenna mount with a step drill bit to get a bit of wiggle room. Everything is tight, those were the readings I received on a new digital SWR meter. Thanks
Ubiety absolutely has a great point here, this will depend on your local area usps department, it works best if you have had a regular mail person for several years because the new ones have plenty going on already. It also never hurts to just leave the mail carrier a note in the box letting...
Not proud of this but Amazon, try typing Jeep gladiator microphone holder it is called “areyourshop” China I’m sure! Anyway it works good hope that helps.

Definitely the best system right here I use this system online, everything goes to my email I can tell what’s important before I receive it and I can sign for packages ahead of time! It’s great...
I will definitely give them ideas a try, also I’ve ordered that cutter and crimping system to shorten the cable so ultimately it is excess cable and needs to go for a cleaner look, maybe order another antenna that’s adjustable too, and I will let everyone know how that ghost antenna works, i...
Radio installed, not so bad! Only thing is the SWR meter is saying it’s running a bit higher then I would like but have a bunch of coiled up antenna cable left over so I ordered a coax cable cutter and crimper set and I will take out the excess cable hopefully that will help... if that doesn’t...
