I'm a retired Law Enforcement Officer with almost thirty years of chasing bad guys. Now I'm looking forward to slowing down and learning new things. I've wanted to use a Jeep to explore the deserts of California and get as far away from the city as possible. I also want to enjoy my two other passions, ham radio and photography, while on these excursions! To that end I have acquired a 1992 YJ that was in near stock condition. I am in the process of refurbishing it and I'm already learning a lot. I'm much more taken with the concept of overloading and traveling to remote places than I am hard core off-roading. I'm not a rock crawler or mudder type of guy. But dirt roads to far away places with a couple of other people that enjoy solitude sounds like a dream to me. I hope to learn a lot about off-road travel and Jeeps and maybe I can help teach some others about radio if they need it.
