    5th Gen 4Runner in Pennsylvania

The great looking for Runner! I love the stance. I just got one too, I'm looking forward to modding in a bit and getting it Off off-road. Some sort of East Coast meet up would be awesome!

    2018 4Runner from Central Florida

Great looking 4R! I just got one too, also in silver. Loving it so far, and I'm hoping to get it set up something like yours pretty soon.

    4Runner Owners Registry

Just picked up this '13 Trail Edition 3 weeks ago. I love it so far! I have mild plans for a build, the first thing will be a good set of all terrain tires, followed by skids and sliders. Other than that, just odds and ends that will make it a little bit more livable and handy for my...

Why Did You Become a Member of Overland Bound?

I was a lurker for a bit, I had seen various youtube channels that kind of got me interested in this, as well as seeing how it could mesh with my main hobby, mountainbkiking. Once I decided I wanted to purchase a vehicle I registered to ask some questions. Got some great advice, and am now...

The Adventure Wagon: A 2004 Volvo XC70 Overland Build

Just curious, how does having DSTC interfere with the lift? I have an '07, which came standard with DSTC. The nice thing about that is A) it actually works quite well, and B) it allows you to turn off Spin Control, which makes it more fun for shenanigans in the snow.

    Snorkel or Not to Snorkel

I've seen some people advocate facing the scoop backwards, which would negate any (questionable) ram air effect. One of those mushroom type scoops would eliminate that as well. I wonder though, has anyone seen any tests with any air filter analysis or other hard data to see if there actually IS...

Go to Baja with looming threat of border shutdown?

If you have a gut feeling, go with that. Better safe than sorry. After all this (hopefully) cools down, go ahead and reschedule the trip then.

Auto front “lokka” lockers on independent front suspension

Is that a selectable locker? Meaning, can you engage and disengage it at will? If it's not, and is an auto locker, I would say that wouldn't be great in the snow and ice, especially the front. You know how with the rear locked if you hit the gas you fishtail the rear end toward the curb...

Let's see those full size rigs - Trucks & SUV

NICE! I'm looking to pick up one of these myself. Is yours stock height? And I love the color, btw. Jade green is one of the best Toyota colors ever.

Time to start shopping for a rig...could use your help!

OP, One more vehicle suggestion to throw into the mix... I don't think anyone has mentioned this one yet, and it's one I think I've settled on. First gen Toyota Sequoia. Based on the Tundra, so you know they last, a Tundra with that 4.7L V8 went 1 million miles. I look at them as a 4Runner...

Time to start shopping for a rig...could use your help!

I would probably go with a V8 ZJ. I had a 4L ZJ, and it was a dog once I put 31's on it, not to mention 16mpg highway. Coulda had a V8. Only downside is the fulltime 4wd, but a NP242 swap is fairly cheap/easy. I did it on my 4.0, as it came with the 249 fulltime case. You're right on XJ's, the...

Time to start shopping for a rig...could use your help!

That is a great looking ZJ! I had a 97 with the 4.0, I really miss that thing. Well, no so much the 4.0, it was a dog. The best ZJ is a 96-98 V8 with a swapped in NP242, IMO.

    Subaru specific question

Oh that's interesting, I still thought people there mostly drove around in little tiny cars. Didn't realize the F150 was even sold there. Oh, and off topic, but I see you're from Somerset. I live not too far from Somerset, Massachusetts, which is right next to Swansea, which I think you have...

    Snorkel or Not to Snorkel

Do you even overland, bro? Everyone knows you can't overland without a snorkel. lol, j/k, couldn't resist. IMO unless you regularly drive through 3 feet plus of water, or live in the desert where it's always super dusty, it's an appearance only mod. And if you ARE driving through water that...

    Subaru specific question

That's Subaru's trick for convincing American buyers to purchase one. They caught on that tacking some plastic cladding on it fools the majority of American buyers into thinking that they're buying an SUV and not a station wagon (or estate car, as I believe they call them on your side of the pond).
