    San Francisco safe parking

There should be an outdoor parking lot right outside the boat terminals. Plenty of tourist walking by so the bad guys would have to be ballsy to attempt something around a croud of people? You'd hope.

Is the Overlanding community killing itself

I haven't read every post here, but yes there are some 'overland' gear that is very expensive. The gear that I see that are expensive seem to be gear that is built in small quantities, hand made, unique design, and/or something hardly no one is making. So those companies have to charge more to...

    Dedicated rig vs. Daily driver?

I only mention my garage opener because as you just noted my garage / home is 20 years old lol. It’s on borrowed time. So when I do take out my daily driver I’m like, hope the garage opens when I get home lol.

    Dedicated rig vs. Daily driver?

My truck is most of the time my daily driver only because to get to my daily driver (2018 Volvo XC90) out of the garage I have to move the truck from the driveway. It's easier to just get in the truck and drive away lol. Plus, I don't like opening and closing the garage due to wear and tear...

    How would you start over?

My 2002 Silverado 2500hd is not worth much if it did get into an accident. I probably wouldn't start over immediately. If I did, however, I still stick with a full size truck. I can't see myself going smaller, even though there are some awesome mid-size trucks out there.

    Limb risers

Yup since it was/is a DIY set based on my existing setup, the risers do get in the way. However, I just loosen the turnbuckles and the cables come right off and/or away from the hood. Maybe a minute a side at most.

OB Approved Overland Bound Comms Frequency Guide

Congrats on getting your Tech license. I think the first thing I did was check for any firmware updates, then I programmed my unit with stations/repeaters I think/thought I might need. Where ever you think you might travel, just plug those in and the rest just put on a piece of paper. I put a...

Need Help With Wiring My LED Light Pods

I made my own wire loom. The lights have about a foot long of positive/negative wires coming out of them. I connected them all together, two on each side, then connected to central wire that goes down cab.
