    Has overlanding become elitist ?

When I started I would just drive my 1988 Ford laser to trail heads and walk most the way. Nowadays I have a good mostly stock 4wd and my old bush walking gear. Which still works fine. But I keep looking at most accessories for 4wds and thinking "that's just an expensive piece of kit thats...

    Hail in rooftop tent

The only thing I could think of, would be to rig up a heavy canvas tarp above the tent to take the bulk of the hail. But I'm not an expert. I would love to know if anyone out there has a proven solution.

Post pictures of your camp kitchen

So this is my "cooking for one" set up. It's just my old hiking stove, and Esky (Ice Box, Chilly Bin) & I have a Jetboil for morning coffee. It all fits into a wolfpack box with a heap of non perishable food. If I'm Cooking for a few people I will grab a cast iron camp oven & maybe a Weber...

OB Approved Safety and Security While Traveling

Interesting food for thought. Generally when I'm out and about I do tend to be in holiday mode, so I could certainly benefit from more active situational awareness. I'm lucky not to live anywhere with any apex predators. We have a few nasty critters about but you learn quickly how to keep out...

Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

Ahoy there folks. I just joined from Australia. Currently driving a mostly stock Landcruiser 76 series. The thing doesn't even have power windows or central locking, I love its simplicity. The photo was taken on a day trip to Gunbower National Park on the border of Victoria and New south...
