That's how I would do it as well. Personally, I would try to use a heavy wall 2x2, just to make sure it's as strong as can be. But, I'm also all about "using what I have on hand". Looking forward to seeing the finished product! Rick

Thanks. Your correct gas engine. I contemplated getting the diesel when I ordered it, glad I didnt, with diesel these days! Now that i am going to be overlanding I'm glad I went with gas, since I feel diesel might be hard to find in some of the remote places.

Got the side plates finished and mounted. Paint this week, and hoping to install over the weekend.
