Great topic for this time of year. I have never let the temperature stop me from getting out. I will note that the coldest I have ever been was out side of Pensacola Florida in November with the temperature just under 32F and sleeping on the ground. Because it was considered "Jungle" training...
Well the Ramcharger is gone, and replace by a 2004 Toyota Tundra Double Cab. In thinking of a name for it we bounced around several but finally came down to Tartis. Because is looks small on the outside by its self but on the inside it seems like there is way more room, and it takes use places.
Hey guys one suggestion for applying it to the rhino liner is to take a heat gun and warm up the area where you are going to apply your badge. That should help promote adhesion.
As long as the surface is clean when you install it you can't pull them off. I just sold the Ramcharger and had to use a heat gun and screw driver to pyre them off and they pulled some liner off still. Now I have to figure out where to put them on my 1st gen Tundra.
+1 on the Subaru. Unless you plan on going off roading a lot the Subaru will give you all the service you need with plenty of space for all your worldly possessions. I drove a 66 VW Bug in college and never had a problem. Also don't get hung up on the snow I drove a 2WD Chevy long bed truck...
You didn't mention the year of the vehicle so it is hard to say if it is that good of a deal. I was looking at a 2005 with 120K on it and good records for $12,000 but without putting the two rigs side by side it is hard to say. I finally decided to replace my Ramcharger and the GX470 was my...
Looks like your spring height is adjustable and I can't tell in the picture if they top collar is at its highest point. If you can spin the top collar up you will be able to line it up then once you get it attached you can screw it back down. There is probably a set screw holding the collar in...
I believe the reason you want to be on a level surface when you use them is they use a convection based system so the refrigerant uses gravity to return it back to the heating element instead of a compressor and pump. Here is a pretty good article that may help you...
Congratulations on the Boy and don't be afraid to get him outside as soon as possible. I like the looks of your Tundra, you will have to post some updated photos once you get the front end work completed.
Very nice. I will be following to see how you build yours. I will be interested to see what you think of the ICON product and how it changes your ride. I just bought the same vehicle with 85K on the OD, couldn't pass it up. The wife wanted it because it reminded her of her 90 Toyota Extended...
I know this is late, so you can file it away for next year. Abrams Creek Camp Ground located in the south east corner of the Great Smokey Mountain Park is a nice peaceful place to rest. Also Look Rock campground located on the Foothill Parkway between Hwy 129 and Hwy 321.
With 4 kids I would recommend the Sequoia. the extra inches will make all the difference in the world for extended trips and the 5.6 motor will pull anything you want. The GX470 is a great ride for the road with a lot of nice bits and pieces but the Sequoia will almost match it.
Here is my Ramcharger, code name Damn Rodger. I was using it as a test mule for my new (to me) 10000 lbs lift. I got the roof top rack mounted and next step will be gears so I can pull a trailer easier.
