Divorced 35 year old Marine Corps Veteran, originally from South Phoenix (a little trailer park at the base of the South Mountain range to be exact). Moved to the Tampa Bay Area over just over 25 years ago on a blind whim with my grandparents. Spent my childhood years out on the trails of the mountains in my backyard, or in Tempe/Mesa to go climb Camelback Mountain with my Dad, or my Aunt when she was in town. Came to Florida and didn’t care for the beach (now, what would be walking on the beach, different story), but the woods and their trails here were unlike anything we had in AZ, so it was a whole new world. Joined the Marines in 2001, and spent some time over in the jungles of Okinawa shortly after, did plenty of time over in the desert of California doing training in between deployments, and also did some time over in the big sandbox of the east in 2003 during the invasion. About the only sort of climate I have zero exposure to is the damn snow/extreme cold. For obvious reasons, not much snowfall back in Phoenix in the 80’s, and hasn’t been snowfall in Tampa since ‘88-‘89. When I did have to drive in snow, I owned a “Tampa Stock” Mustang GT....yeeeeeeah....that went over like a fart in church.
