US Southeast Rigs & Coffee - Charlotte, NC: Georgia Traverse

Eric, don't include me in your count esp for campsites. I'd really like to meetup with you guys and help you out any way I can. My friends and I regularly ride many of the roads that make up the traverse to get to other destinations. Depending on the time you have available and the size of your...

US Southeast Rigs & Coffee - Charlotte, NC: Georgia Traverse

Another closure that surprises traverse explorers is Dick's Creek Rd. It has been gated to vehicular traffic for a couple years now...

US Southeast Rigs & Coffee - Charlotte, NC: Georgia Traverse

I'm centrally located along the traverse so if you don't find what you're looking for on the forestry sites I'm close enough to most of these roads that I can take a day and drive out for a visual if needed. By the way, I retired from Charlotte-Mecklenburg in Feb '2015 to move up here. I lived...

US Southeast Rigs & Coffee - Charlotte, NC: Georgia Traverse

Hey guys, it's cool to see when a group plans to come up this way. I don't want to be a spoiler but I also don't want you to get up here and be frustrated with seasonal road closures. Remember that our seasonal roads open March 15. I drive the forest roads of this area (N Georgia, W NC, SE...

    Ask About Gaia GPS!

It's a good idea but it needs some tweaking. I tried it for awhile but have gone back to my main four layers. I liked that road numbers, road names, and cities were easier to identify. The trail status provided by USFS Roads and Trails was tricky to get. Overland had to be turned down to a...

    ARB compressor

I have a twin ARB and 35's. I usually air down to 18 or 20 psi and run my street pressure at 38 psi. I can't advise on the single but the twin is very fast. I'm aired up from start to finish in about ten minutes. The speed also encourages me to air down when I'm not sure how rough the trail will be.

    SC Trails near Clemson University

Many of the forest roads in north Georgia are seasonal. Here's a link that might help you if you venture up this way. The roads in black or red are closed for other reasons. The roads in yellow are closed Jan 2 until March 16...

    Any disadvantages to stubby bumpers?

My 2020 Gladiator has the Jeep steel bumper with the removable wings. I've heard the wings are 7lbs a piece so an advantage to removing them could be a loss of around 14lbs. I'm curious if anyone has any experiance with a disadvantage to using a stubby bumper.

Too comment or not to comment! That is the question

You're in Georgia like me. Did you see where the 46 year old woman fell off of Yonah Mountain and died recently? She was hiking with her husband and son. I don't know if you've ever done that hike but that screams of selfie death or foul play. I don't see someone falling from that rack face...

    Chainsaw mount ideas

I have a Rebel Offroad EXPLOR 1/2 rack and I'm looking for suggestions on how to mount a small Husqvarna T435 climbers chainsaw (7.5 lbs) to the inside of the rack. I live in the Chattahoochee National Forest where downed trees are common so I'd like to carry the saw with me on local runs...

    Gaia track issues

I assume you got the files downloaded. All you have to do is open Gaia and drag the file over and drop it on the Gaia window. Have you tried that?
