My name's Alan, I have been exploring this planet since '74. I am more of a, "fly by the seat of my pants" adventurer, lol...but I really do try to plan. I am by no means an off road or overlanding expert. That being said...I am pretty sure that I'm a novice with some experience from adventures and more often than not, misadventures. I have been doing overlanding expeditions since 1996 and been lucky enough to do them on 4 continents. My father was career Air Force and I put 6 years in the Army, so, I've spent over half of my life overseas. I've owned many rigs over the years, but currently...I own a 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series I SD. 4.0L V-8, Old Man Emu Suspension, 30X9.50 Goodyear Dura-Tracs, Bull Bar w/ 2- 9" 155w Hella's, 3/4 length roof rack w/ Hi-Lift jack, 4-6" 100w cheapo amazon lights, shovel & axe also attached, 2nd battery to run accessories, $60.00 homemade snorkel kit, 102" SS whip antenna (for CB), 3' Wilson 5000 (for scanner), Rear Ladder, Taillight guards...uhm, about it for the exterior for the moment. Interior...Tweaked and tuned Cobra 29 LX, 8 watt handheld Ham radio, 4000 channel trunking scanner w/ digital (up to 3.3 Ghz), 2 gps units, Free custom built dog barrier and equipment shelves & storage areas, stock stereo :^), Various off road gear and search & rescue equipment.
