Lost World Themed 6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion

So like I mentioned before, winter 2021-2022 was a huge bust for making money. I had Covid in January which quickly turned into laryngitis, stomach issues, fatigue, ect. Fortunately during the time I was sitting in my apartment hoping that next week I'd be able to go to work, I watched videos...

    1999 ML320 "AAV Montana" Build

Sorry for the lack of updates, the only thing I've done to the ML this year was repaint the hood because the garbage clear coat I put on it didn't like snow being scrapped off of it during the winter. The reason I haven't done anything this year is thanks to long covid and barely being able to...

Lost World Themed 6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion

Thanks!! Yeah I'm kinda surprised with how nice the counter tops came out. A similarly sized and shaped counter top would have probably been 5x what I paid for the materials lol.

Lost World Themed 6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion

Shortly after I arrived to my BLM park ranger job, I continued work on the trailer. The job would end in October 2021, so I only had about 4 months to finish the trailer into an actual conversion that could be used as a camper. The first thing I did was decide how to build the bed. I ended up...

Lost World Themed 6x12 Cargo Trailer Conversion

Hello! So I've mentioned/shown my trailer a few times in my ML build thread and figured I would create one for my trailer to show how I've built the trailer out. There's a few reasons why I decided to go with a cargo trailer conversion versus something else. Cost was the main factor; most...

    1999 ML320 "AAV Montana" Build

Nice! Thankfully my squatting was fixed with the newer springs + spacer, and better weight distribution in my trailer. Eventually I'd like to put 33's on my ML, but I have other things I want done to it and the trailer before then.

    1999 ML320 "AAV Montana" Build

I haven't done much to the ML since the lift. My season ended in October and I've barely worked at my current job due to a late start and then being sick. Here's a comparison picture of the rear lift:

Here's a video I put together of the process of installing the longer bolts on the coilovers and installing them on the ML.

    1999 ML320 "AAV Montana" Build

Its been awhile since I updated the status of the build, but I got the new coilovers with lift spacers installed! The whole process took some management, lots of time, and knowing someone who could weld. But it was well worth it as I gained about 1.5-2 inches in the rear! Plus there's only...

Nice! I would like to get some long travel shocks on the front eventually. Good to know what's out there!.

    1999 ML320 "AAV Montana" Build

Last weekend I went to a local (well, 2.5 hours away one way...) junkyard and pulled a set of rear coilover springs from a 2005 ML320. I ended up buying an impact gun to get them off...I should have bought one ages ago. Originally I was thinking about taking the coilovers to a shop with a new...

    1999 ML320 "AAV Montana" Build

Yeah, on my trip out here I did have the spare and the carrier in the trailer and it was still squatting a lot. I'm planning on getting a new receiver that has the ball lower so the trailer is more level as well, but that'll be after I get the rear lifted so I know how large of one to get...

    1999 ML320 "AAV Montana" Build

I'm in Idaho now! I took a seasonal park ranger position with the Bureau of Land Management and have been here for just over a month now. The ML320 did fantastic on the trip out here towing a cargo trailer, and the only thing that worried me was that my rear springs are too soft (which I knew...
