Here is a water crossing not to far off the Northern end of your route. Nothing to crazy, hard bottom dirt road. Something cool to check out if you go through the area. Pillsbury Crossing

Rally Point created for the trip. Looking to get a few rigs together to hit up the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas. No set schedule once we get started. Hoping to hit some other trails throughout the area during the week. Rally Point

That's my thoughts as well and the reason I want to have both on hand. Neither of them take up much space for storage. I just want to make sure having the ghost antenna below the hard top with no ground plane to work off of will be alright for a decent distance.

I considered putting the GMRS antenna where you have yours. But I run limb risers and it would be bouncing off of those all day.

I am looking to pick up the MXT275 for the Jeep JKU. I was also looking at picking up Midlands 32" 6DB whip antenna. I am curious what the impact of mounting the antenna on the spare tire carrier of the Jeep would be to the signal? Also if I swapped the antenna out to one of their ghost...

I am trying to get out to the area around the same time. I hit all the major trails last year except for Black Bear and Poughkeepsie. If I see that I am able to make it around that time maybe we can get together and knock out Black Bear and some others.

Jemez Springs in New Mexico and right up the road from there is Spence hot springs a short hike off the road and offers a great view of the valley.

Saw the Rally Point you created. I won't take up a spot on the Rally Point at this time. Just found out that I may be stuck in East Africa a bit longer than expected. But if I manage to get out of here earlier than what they are saying I am definitely interested in joining the adventure.

I did a quick search on The Dyrt and they have multiple campgrounds around the lake. I have driven around the whole lake and the area on the southside of the dam looks like a nice area that provides plenty of shade.
