Some pictures from last weekend from genova and hawkins peak. On the way home my alternator went out and had to get towed. First time iv ever had to get a 4x4 rig towed!

I went up to Genova Peak this weekend. The trail is pretty easy and I managed just fine in a stock 3rd gen 4runner. The views are amazing. If you are running the trail from Kingsbury Grade the first entrance to Genova Peak is the more technical one and the second entrance is the easy one.
Took my stock 3rd gen 4unner out to the Barney Riley hot springs this weekend. Decided to take Leviathan Mine Rd to get there instead of the usual China Springs Rd that most people take. The trail was much more washed out and rocky than I remember at the beginning of last winter.
Genoa Peak Road in East Lake Tahoe is a good beginner trail. Its got great views of the lake and from what I can remember there were a few dispersed camping locations. Genoa Peak OHV Trail. I might be able to find some photos if you are interested.
So far I am loving mine. I use to have a built '98 Jeep Cherokee and it had terrible road manners and could not really fit more than 2 people comfortably. The 4runner is a bit longer so I can fit more people if I wanted to. Iv got some pics of the old Jeep:
