Best Thing You Can Do to Save Trails

So many of my overlanding friends have been asking me about the best thing one can do to save trails. Well, it's not hard. The BEST thing, probably, is to show up for work -- show up for trail cleanups, Trail Guardian, work days, trail clearing with a local club, anything that puts boots on...

Don't feel bad. It's new stuff and even new to me, so we're all learning on this software. Thank you for getting in the game. We've got a LOT of projects restoring trails coming up.

    US West, Mendocino NF

Ok, all, here's the deal -- that Kent and I didn't know when we posted this. OHV, in this case, means less than 50-inch machines. So yea, it's a dirt bike and ATV trail. BUT...however....it's a NEW trail being built out of an old plugged-up logging road. New. That's the key. If we help the...

    Nibbling Away at Your Freedoms

The absolute FIRST step to saving our sport, saving trails, and keeping Overlanding healthy and available is to JOIN everything that makes sense to you. Without joining, you have NO voice in how public lands are managed. Yes, perhaps you are good about writing a few letters now and then to...

    Sticker Rules

I run stickers, lots of them, of folk who support keeping trails open and organizations helping us keep this sport alive. Oh, and most of them cover scratches.

    Help get the word out

It is not easy nor is it a quick fix. It boils down to what I call the Four E's: Engineering (signage), Education, Engagement (getting more volunteers working on the area/trails) and Enforcement -- cops. I'll find that particular article and post it here.

Land Use Jeep and OB Emblem -- Where Amongst Stickers?

I know; I konw. There's a lot of stickers. But where do you suggest a land use guy like me who flies many colors and stickers should run the OB emblem? I am a staunch supporter of the OverlandBound community and sport -- so I want so show my stuff and represent well.

    Help get the word out

This is more dangerous than you can imagine -- having this kind of negative publicity will kill our sport. Just ask those of us who started saving the Rubicon Trail 20+ years ago. All the anti crowd needed was numb-nut behavior or just plain ill or uninformed users doing dumb stuff.
