I run stickers, lots of them, of folk who support keeping trails open and organizations helping us keep this sport alive. Oh, and most of them cover scratches.

What can we do about bad or illegal behavior? Del Albright: Four E's of Protecting Access

It is not easy nor is it a quick fix. It boils down to what I call the Four E's: Engineering (signage), Education, Engagement (getting more volunteers working on the area/trails) and Enforcement -- cops. I'll find that particular article and post it here.

I know; I konw. There's a lot of stickers. But where do you suggest a land use guy like me who flies many colors and stickers should run the OB emblem? I am a staunch supporter of the OverlandBound community and sport -- so I want so show my stuff and represent well.

This is more dangerous than you can imagine -- having this kind of negative publicity will kill our sport. Just ask those of us who started saving the Rubicon Trail 20+ years ago. All the anti crowd needed was numb-nut behavior or just plain ill or uninformed users doing dumb stuff.

Every OLB member should have this course under their belt, IMHO. And we should be sharing and caring every time we're out in the outback -- share with others; show them how to care for the land while still enjoying it. Share and Care.
