Millertime's No ifs ands or buts

Had the day off and figured I would dive into the rear 3 Link frame side design. Finally have some hard numbers to go off to build the cardboard copy and test fitment. Everything is 1/4".

Millertime's No ifs ands or buts

Decided to take the truck up to uwharrie. I haven't been up there in about 3+ years or so. It was humbling going from a purpose built buggy to a full bodied leaf sprung truck, 35s, and only a front locker. All in all the truck did great and I am very pleased.

Not much new... just been working her everyday. Finishing up a few house things, then back onto the truck. Also thinking about jumping up to 37's. I am geared for it... may have my 5x 35s with wheels for sale shortly.. about 60% tread, although I will get an actual measurement on tread...

More stuff from ruffstuff... Rear 3 link bungs and lower axle side hiem mounts (3/8" bad boys). Rest is for the front end, still waiting on the shock tower hoops, should be here monday. Since I only hammock camp, there are 3 major issues I run into. Rain protection is only while IN the...

    What to build first?

The most important thing to do (besides updated maintenance) is just go camp. Bring your gear and head out to a trail. Bring a pad of paper and write down problems you face and upgrades to solve them. A lot of it comes down to quality of life out on the trail. A plain o Jane TRD will do just...

Need a new rig, and want you opinions!

Do you need something new??? I daily my 82 and love it. The money I save goes directly into camping gear and performance/maintenance parts and would jump into it tomorrow and head off to the west coast without thinking twice. I agree with MazeVX, I think it should really pivot on what the...

Last weekend... Also picked up some 14" short body 7100s for the front of the yoter. Have a bunch of builder parts coming from ruffstuff to get the front end done.

Millertime's No ifs ands or buts

Well, after looking further into building a rear anti-wrap bar and the work that was involved with doing so, I decided to continue with my idea of doing a 3 link build on the rear end. Personally, I don't mind leaf springs so much in the rear, its the front that really needs links IMO...

You could put an S bend in the plates so that way you can open the hood without removing them. I would imagine a 1/4" bend over and up would give you hood clearance.

On a more productive note.... Finally got the new limiting switches in, so much better than the old POS that I tried to use. Everything is officially wired up, rockn and rollin! Since I was running 12v to the bed, I decided to purchase some red LEDs for the cargo area. I went with red...

Millertime's No ifs ands or buts

I will look into the motor mounts and will have to measure my engine-to-hood. Because I am running a 3RZ, I may not have enough clearance.... as far as raising the trans and case, I would have to cut out a section of the tunnel to make it fit. Right now I have 1/4" clearance from the top of...

Millertime's No ifs ands or buts

I decided to try and reverse the anti-wrap bar and go back behind the axle which will give me the negative anti-squat I need for the truck to perform correctly. The only problem is the more the axle droops, the more aggressive my degrees get (similar to what I am running into with the rear axle...
