Plates and bowls, let's overthink this together

I don't do dishes on the road; everything is disposable/burnable. Sorry Earth.

    Coffee Set Ups

Once again, the simplest, easy-to-clean-up coffee is with a Melitta single cup filter holder, #4 filters, with ground coffee of your choice into whatever container you like. Exact same way we make coffee at home. French presses, Aeropress, and similar require you to deal with grounds and far...

    What is your EDC Flashlight?

My iphone. I don't carry a flashlight on my person other than that unless I'm out camping or similar.

    Fire on the ground.

It's been a long time since I've made a campfire of any sort. I travel in a camping van, never stay more than a night, and don't want the bother of being responsible for the aftermath of a fire. I am thinking of picking up a UCO Flatpack grill to use as the occasional firepit but mostly for...

2020 Goals? What do you wish to Accomplish in 2020?

I had planned a trip through Idaho and Canada and looping back through WA last year until I had to get involved with some family business matters. I did get a week in with my son through Oregon in July, however. When winter fades, I intend to try the original trip again. Will be taking my PW...

Get this out of your kitchen ASAP!!!!

You're right about olive oil's smoking point. But then the only thing I cook outdoors other than hot water for coffee is eggs. I prefer butter but usually use evoo which is just fine for frying or scrambling eggs as they are better cooked at a little above medium temps. I hate back country...

    Mountain House Meals

You needed SALT with a MH meal?!? That's probably the biggest complaint I've read with MH is their incredibly high salt content.

Why on earth would anyone use canned cooking spray in the first place?

    Mountain House Meals

People, you don't live on these for weeks at a time, you keep them for emergency stores and convenience when traveling in remote places. Is fresh, healthy food better? Well, duh. But MH fills a need and a belly and most of us can eat these on occasion and survive just fine.

    Mountain House Meals

I consider MH to be emergency/occasional food. I've bought about 6 buckets of assorted meals from Costco on their sales. Brings the average cost of the pouches to about $4 each. I prefer to eat real food but with a shelf life of 40 years, these are good for emergency stores. I keep a few...

Lets talk keeping you coffee hot!

I have Yeti, RTIC, and Ozark Trail. I prefer the OT design as it slims down towards the bottom and fits my hand and cup holders better. The best top I've used is the Yeti Mag Slide which fits the OT mugs. My coffee stays hot enough to drink for at least two hours. Of course it's weather...

Where did you install your OB emblem?

Still residing, forgotten, in my center console. As we've learned, these don't weather well on the outside of a vehicle.
