    Roof rack or trailer?

I was against a trailer for a long time. However, I got tired of climbing up on the roof to open/close tent and to get stuff down. Our van is really tall. Also, with stuff on the roof it won't fit in the garage. I picked up an old M101 trailer for $500. Its awesome. I cannot believe how well it...

In Search Of An M101 wheel

Hi. I picked up the trailer yesterday. I want to swap the axle, but first we have a trip planned. Does anyone between Vermont and North Carolina have a wheel/tire ? I don’t have a spare. We are headed to the Outer Banks Friday. Thanks!

FOR SALE Nikon D3 and Lenses

I am selling my Nikon D3, Nikon 50 1.4G, and Tokina 17 3.5 lenses. They are all in excellent condition. The Tokina hood is cracked and taped, but it works and has no effect on anything. Included if camera and lenses are sold together: Lowepro Photosport 200 backpack, flash, and radio triggers...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I made a sup/surf rack for the side of the van. Aluminess makes a rack, but they are out of stock for a few weeks and we are leaving for a beach trip in two weeks. Anyway, the bars are old Thule rain gutter bars and the hooks are heavy duty sup storage hooks. The Aluminess will look better when...

Typo in title: It is am 02. Hi. I am selling our ambulance. It’s a 2002, 7.3 motor, with 124,500 miles. We bought it last year to use as a family camper. It’s located in Middlebury, Vermont. We have made several trips to NH and Maine to camp and take the kids to the beach. We have also been...

    Trail babies

We travel with two toddlers now, but we traveled a lot when they were infants. We just limit the hours driven to keep them happy and make sure we pack a box with some of their favorite toys, blanket, etc. It was easier when they were on formula bc we didn't need to refrigerate milk all the...

Full size overlanding pros vs cons.

We are full sized due to being a family of 4. It’s awesome having tons of room. In an ideal world I would tow a jeep just for tight trails or crawling. 99.9% of the time though the van does everything we want. It’s also nice to have the rtt, solar, awning, maxtrax, jack, etc in the roof. We...

    What should I do first?

I would start with recovery gear. If you don’t have a winch a hi lift jack and some straps will get you out. As mentioned above Amazon has inexpensive maxtrax knockoffs. A shovel is also cheap insurance. All of the cool gear in the world won’t seem cool when it’s stuck on the trail.

Thanks! Yeah, the ambo is cool. The only problem is that it’s so solid that you can’t get cell or WiFi with the doors closed. That kind of irritates the kids. Lol. Seriously though, they make a great travel vehicle.

Let’s be honest; Roof Top Tent- Yay or Nay?

We just installed a rtt today. The primary reason is because we have two toddlers. We used to have a bed box in the back of our van, but we need the space in the van for traveling comfort. I have spent many nights camping in ground tents and they have always worked well. The lure of the rtt is...
