We are a partnered couple (Nick & Tina), from the late boomer generation who have always loved everything outdoors, extensive hiking, camping, kayaking, and exploring all the remote regions of Canada. We are based in the Canadian Province of New Brunswick, but we have traveled the entire country for many years in all corners of the wild, but feel we have just scratched the surface..........you literally could explore all your life and only see a small portion of this very big, diverse country.
We have been through multiple mostly stock jeep wranglers (3- Rubicon's & 1- Sahara), as well as custom Blazers and Jimmy's in my earlier years, and have traversed every environment possible with little to no issues. today we travel with our Chevy Colorado ZR2 and our custom (homemade) offload trailer nick named "Kijiji Trailer". It has been a work in progress over the last 4 years, and we make changes to the trailer in upgrades every year after each major trip exposes what our base camp can do easier. For our American or foreign friends, "Kijiji" is a website for buying and selling everything you can think of here in Canada, the most popular in my opinion, everything on this trailer has been bought second hand off this site. Who says you need to spend thousands of dollars building your own off road trailer. It not fancy but it works exactly for what we require. UPDATE! (Aug 6th 2020), After much discussion and realizing we wanted to get more comfortable going off road but keep the rugged nature of our set up, we pulled the trigger on two new purchases. First we sold old "Kijiji" rooftop tent mounted off road trailer, to a very nice couple just getting into the overland world. We then purchased a new Bushwhacker tear drop off road capable trailer, then fully outfitted it to our needs. We are so happy with the upgrade, we can still go all the places we want in the back county but now in much more comfort and convenience. My beautiful better half decided she wanted to not just ride shotgun anymore, but actively take the wheel and enjoy the driving experience herself in her own rig. She pulled the trigger on a 2020 Toyota 4runner TRD PRO, she could not be happier and is now learning and testing her new found skills driving the backs. Should be an interesting competition with Chevy verse's Toyota.
We have joined here to learn and get to know more people who share the same feeling we get when outdoors enjoying the natural surroundings/elements we are blessed with in North America. I learned a new term this year, and I feel it perfectly fits with how i feel when out in the forested wilderness:
"Forest Bath"
Well its time to get out and bath off this city layer, hope to see and hear other like minded folks,
Cheers, Nick & Tina
