Advocate I
I'm doing some research now on a possible 2-3 week overlanding trip in Mongolia later this year.
My wife and I are looking at flying there and joining an overland tour or possibly renting a rig ourselves if there is a group of others travelling as well. There are a number of tour operators which will provide guides, drivers and vehicles along and with arranging all of the camping/stays in the backcountry for the entire trip. There are trips that sort of do the circle of major highlights in the country as well as those that focus on a specific region. There are also off road outfitters that can provide a overlanding type vehicle, tent, some camping gear, and a couple of spare tires for you to go out on your own.
Does anyone here have any experiences good/bad or helpful tips based on a past overlanding trip in Mongolia that you did?
Is there any interest in forming a small group to travel Mongolia perhaps sometime later this fall?
