Rally Point Details:

We will camp at Pinon Flats campground inside GSDNP (Reservations are required and fill up quickly) Fri-Sun. If you do not want to camp at the campground but want to do the Medano Pass trail, an entrance pass to the park will still be required.

I will get to the campground mid day on Friday and explore the dunes early evening for some hiking and photography.

If you don’t want to be in a campground there are several dispersed camping spots along Medano Pass Trail bit they are FCFS and there are not any day of reservations available at the campground.

The rally point will be the parking lot just outside the campground at 9:00am on Saturday and leave at 9:30.

The trail is about 13 miles and there will probably be time to find nearby trails to do or enjoy exploring the National Park. Zapata Falls is also an option with a short hike to reach.
