Check the enable radius filter:

  • This will turn your cursor into a small (hard to see) “+”. You must draw a circle on the map to create your radius filter.
  • you can move the radius around the map by gripping the handle in the center.
  • You can also expand the radius by grabbing the handles on the radius edge.
  • Once you have a radius adjusted to the location you want, you can see the number of users in the radius.

Select the Map Message button: and you will be taken to the “Conversation” screen to complete your message. The conversation will include all of the members from the map! Members have a 100 person Conversation limit.

Map Message S.O.S

An SOS message will alert Members in the area that you need help, and create a thread automatically in the “Request Evac < – > Support Evac” forum located here: Request Evac < – > Support Evac It is your responsibility to update this thread with current information. The community will assume you still need help until the thread is marked “Resolved”.

To send an SOS message, send a Map Message according to the instructions above. When you get to the message screen, provide the following information in the message:

Summary: Carr Fire – Need Evac from home. Have three large boxes. Fire passed. Need to get to shelter.

GPS Coordinates: 40.571993, -122.404254

Personal Cell 707.489.xxxx

Map Checkin

You may check in to any location on the map. Users in a 50 mile radius will get your check-in and see your check-in message. They will also get basic user information, be able to send you a message, and get the GPS coordinates of your check-in pin (which you will set).

Select the Check-in button

After filling in the information, select the “Set Pin Location” button and you will be returned to the map. Drag your pin to the desired location.

We recommend a few miles off for security. They will need to contact you to meet up or get your exact location.

Thats it! Your user icon will show on the map for 24 hours and people will be able to get your check-in details!

Rally Points

On the map, you will see Rally Point icons.

.

These are Member-Hosted overland events. To get more information about the event, click the icon. This will link to Rally Point details, and you can decide if you would like to attend!
