Hello, I am Sandra Stewart, just bought a 2019 4-Runner off-road. Took it to a 4x4 Adventure Park here in Texas to learn its abilities. I am planning a cross-country trip that includes camping and hiking sometime mid-Jan 2020. Plan to stay very south until I am ready to head north to Oregon to see family. I want to connect with different groups as I make it west.

Hello Sandra,
I-10 (the Interstate Freeway) will get ya from greater Houston to L.A. ... Lots of hiking opportunities in the Catalina's Mtn's north of Tucson. Highway 1 is worth the detour, as is Highway 101. It's the route back that could be full of adventure. Oregon, into Idaho (Boise, Sawtooth's, Stanley) into Yellowstone, south into the Teton's. Further South and East into Colorado and the Rocky Mtn's, Down the Front into Taos. Albuquerque to Dallas, Fort Worth. Depends on how much time, and how much of it you want to do "Off Highway"' Look forward to your travels.

If heading through AZ check out Sedona , awsome town with fantastic food and some amazing scenery. Of corse in Oregon swing by crater lake , take part of the obdr to cut out some freeway driving .
