The SGV Group on OB just completed this trail 6/4 - 6/5. Two days with one night camping at the top of Murphy. Trail was great. Shelf roads were scary. Water crossing wasn't bad. Scenery is amazing. We had 8 rigs out with us. Did you guys get your permits? We were never stopped but I would have them just in case. Our route started at the Schafer switchbacks. I think that's the harder way to go. Doing it in reverse may have been easier. Have fun guys!!!

We’ll drive counter-clockwise, and include Shafer trail over 3 days.
The itinerary also includes some short hikes.

We are packed and will depart Prescott tomorrow morning and should arrive in the Moab area around 5-6PM. My plan is to find a campsite at the Horsethief Campground but as it is a first come first served we may not get a spot there. If not, we will find a dispersed site. Propane fire pit is packed. Do you have a preferred comms channel? See you Thursday morning. Brad and Kris

Let’s try GMRS 16. Hopefully it is a clear channel.
If I have cell signal, I’ll post my camp coordinates.
