I'm a big fan of nutserts. I don't see them as an alternative to welding at all, but they serve their own function very well. I used them for all of my interior panels in my old bronco and to install fender flares on a friend's F100. They're a great tool to have.

^^^ Good video. Here's another one that shows it done with basic hardware and tools. I've used an impact driver but a wrench works just as well, and better if you have limited room. I also like that this guy used the rivnuts with the rubber seal.
