What an open and welcome post!
This is in line with the feeling I have with Norway.

This year we're going to do a trip trough Norway! :)
We'll be starting for one night in Denmark. Then 1 or 2 nights Sweden and rest of the 2-2,5 weeks in Norway.
I think I have most info complete about what is allowed and what isn't. But not totally clear is open fire. As I understood, this isn't allowed from April 15th till September 15th?
But what is considered open fire? And with what minimum of equipment I don't have an open fire anymore?
I hope you can answer this.
Many Thanks in advance!!

Sorry for late response

It’s becoming quite the norm to use some type of portable and raised fire stand now...

And it leaves no trace, there is no littering....very safe

Keep us updated and maybe you guys can meet fellow overlanders on route ...

Suggestions for route alternatives is also possible ...

Ok. I’ll go searching for a raised fire stand. Thanks for the tip.
But what do you do with the burnt material? Put it under the ground?
I’m always for not leaving a trace. And even erase the traces (litter) other leaves.

But I’ll keep you posted. We’ll be there from about August 1st - 14th.

For who’s interested, found a great portable fire pit: Tschum

I’ve received the medium version. I think it’s the perfect size. Not too small and certainly not to big. And very very small pack size.

Hey guys!
This sure is a welcoming thread!
For any of you traveling through the mid-west coast of Norway, I'd be happy to say hello and have a cup of coffee or two!
I'm easy to get in touch with on Instagram, but if you do not have access to it I also run a Facebook page.
See you on the road!

Regards,
Arne

Sounds great Arne. We’ll be in Norway end of July till half August. But I’m not sure if we’ll make it to the coast

I hope you all get a chance to meet up. We were in Norway in 2014 for a 3 week tour. It is a spectacular country! Another idea for a fire pit that doubles as a grill is the Primus Kamoto. I’ve used it for a year now grilling and as a fire pit. So far - a solid piece of kit. Safe travels!

I also looked at the primus kamoto. It does looks good. But my Tschum can also hold my dutch oven. And that’s a big plus for me.
We all have our pros and cons [emoji6]
Just enjoy [emoji4]
