Do you think high visability member ID on every vehicle is a good idea?

It may have been done before, and/or suggested by someone else, but I first read the suggestion in a forum by Northern_XS. My member number is attached in reflective numbers on the front windshield (as shown) and in black letters on the rear tailgate. The intention is to make radio communication a bit more efficient during hardball convoy or trail. What do you think?

One issue is the member ID will realistically only be readable within a few car lengths. You can identify the vehicle in front and behind (with a spotter), but beyond that it will be pretty difficult to see.

I think vegasjeepguy is right, even though I've put 3" numbers on the front windshield and 2" letters and numbers (OB-1023), they'd be difficult to see from more than a few car lengths (think of license plates). While use on the highway would be restricted to those nearest, I think their best use is for spotting and camp or campsite ID. Just a thought.

Probably not practical for the purposes you state, but the minute I collect a bit of trail dust I start writing OB#0912 all over my truck...

I know it's not OB traditional colors but putting the numbers in neon green ,neon orange, neon yellow or any neon color you prefer with reflective backing so that they reflect off headlights and other spotlights might be a good idea also and more eye-catching going down the road! Also placing it very high on the rig!http://www.dontgethit.com/reflective-address-numbers.html just as an example!
