Hey Roger

I've only just spotted this post as i was poking around the various forums

some details I had only posted today in fact about UK comms
https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/uk-radio-comms.9498/

I am a Ham myself,
As your in Norfolk there are a few places you can go to get this done,
Kings Lynn i believe have a amateur radio club,
The one i used to be very involved with is NARC - Norfolk Amateur Radio Club, which is based at the CNS school in Norwich

They run regular courses for Foundation / Intermediate and occasionally the Full course..

That should point you in the right direction,

I hold an Intermediate licence (been registered since around '08 but I've grown up with radio as dad got his licence in the 70's )
I also used to run my own local Internet Linked gateway node at my old house - and also am Co-Keeper for about 5 repeaters (All the ones in sheringham, one at Grantham and one on the Hebrides)

If you have any queries from reading the link above, please reach out and let me know and I'll do my best to answer them
