My family and I are planning our first epic 2 week road trip from Kansas City to the mountain west. I would loved some suggestions and place to stay along the way. We will be driving a mostly stock 2004 Land Cruiser and pulling an off road trailer with 35" tires and a roof top tent and will have small children. Based on our gear and the fact that we are not traveling with a group, I am not looking for hard core dangerous trails, but would love to get to places a little off the interstate that take advantage of the fact we can haul ourselves off the beaten path.
