Hello folks,

When a Joke becomes a serious plan, we have to get the plan in motion.
What is the plan?
Well, to be at the Matterhorn, which is on our Mid-Europe badge, to have a real life picture with our Rigs and persons. And the Matterhorn as background.
How are we gonna do this?

First of all, we have about a week.

So, we figure the following could be the thing to do.

Tuesday the 23th of July 2019
We will start from my house in Gaanderen and will drive south.
We drive in a good pase trhough the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg into France.
Trying to do 500km this day.

Wednessday the 24th of July.
A slow tour, special stage, with some trails.
About 200km this day.

Thursday the 25th of July.
Again a good pase through France and Switzerland
We end the day after some 500km again.

Friday the 26th of july
A slow tour that will end at the Campsite near the Matterhorn.
Maybe we will do a track or two.

Saturday the 27th of july
Going to make the Matterhorn picture and doing a trail.
Sunday the 28th of july
Again some trails.

Monday we will leave to get back home again.

In the days when we are at the campsite we will do a meet and greet.
And during that trip we hope to do some meets and greets.

Who are we?

Toon, @GeoCampers #4771
Robert, @Robert OB 33/48
Brian my son (if possible to have the days of)

Who likes to join us during this event?

Sounds interesting. As we are in Switzerland maybe we’ll join you somewhere. I will keep following this thread and will let you know if and where we’ll join.

So, the plan is still in development, but almost sure to be done.

Toon @GeoCampers #4771 will meet up with me at the Belgium/Dutch border with me near Maastricht.

What Iam doing at this moment is to find campsites and trails that can be fitted into the route.
But during the road down scenery is preferred of trails. So, I guess the slow days we will do much route national or smaller. But as straight as possible.
One of the things I like is route des Cretes. Very nice, very touristic, but such a beautiful scenery.
And a perfect spot to meet up at Col du Schlucht.

As far as I can Judge now, the first campsite will be around Sant Die and the first greet and meet or such could be at the Col du Schlucht.

Is that between Strasbourg and Mulhouse? That would be perfect for me. I have entered this in my calendar. Thank you Robert for all the work of preparing the route. I will try hard to be there for the trip.
