Picture was in a gas station at Happy Jack near the Mogollon Rim Az.

Everythings big in Texas looks to be true......

Seen my share on and off the road of these buzz worms the last 50 years, close encounters of the unwanted kind.

Sure there some other stories....

Actually they are smaller out west...

I am from Florida and have seen and caught a lot of Eastern Diamondbacks and I know the western rattlers look very different. So when I saw this photo I started to wonder... Eastern diamondbacks get bigger than a western Diamond backs.. I have seen skins in Florida that were 8 feet or longer hanging on walls. They cut the bottom of that photo off it was actually taken in Georgia. Plus the photo has been reversed too... The snake was killed Sept. 1, 1982

Next time in there you can give them a hard time that snake does not live in Texas the markings are wrong.

Just my joke on everything is bigger in Texas, there was no mention of that.

Grew up on the west coast with Mojave greens along with their cousins, small and nasty for sure.

Regardless its a big snake for sure.

We wont tell the Texans that theirs are smaller... lol

Jeff is there a good overland bound club in Prescott? I will be moving to Congress in a month or so and I am hoping to meet up with some overlanders to do trips with.

Lots of Jeep clubs, have not seen any overland club. Sure wave to a number of people though. There are certainly lots of rigs and headquarters to the industry here or close by.

I will ask around and let you know. Love to get a group adventure going, so much to see!

Count me in as soon as I get up that way.. Prescott is about an hour from where I will be to start but, I am looking at possibly locating to Skull Valley or Prescott in the future.

A lot of the jeepers I have met (I had a Jeep in the past) tend to be more into rock crawling and going for the most difficult challenging routes. I really like my rig and prefer not to trash it or have to fix it all the time..

When I stopped by Maxxtrax headquarters Adventure trailers were next door, lots of overland rigs were there. They do open houses every so often. I will swing by there and ask about it, guys had some nice builds and really nice.

Lots of 4wd trails and less rock crawling here. 2wd gets you around on some cool stuff also.
