Joe H,
Anyone out there done the Trans American Trail. We have been Overlanding for awhile but always willing to learn. What gear would you take if you were to go again. We are taking g a 2012 Tacoma, 2inch ome, rear lockers, topper with a RTT, decked drawers, ARB fridge, dual batteries, front and rear off road bumpers, normal camp gear. Are there any other suggestions?

I lived near the TAT in Arkansas for several years. I’m new to overlanding but familiar with the trail in southeast Arkansas. Depending on time of year, be prepared for mud. Lots and lots of mud from the Mississippi River to about Little Rock. After that you get into the hills and it’s much better. I used to ride dual sport and the tat in the spring is a nightmare in Arkansas. Have fun!

Thanks for the info. We are pumped about the trip, the prep work is even lots of fun. Not much to do for gear, but maybe a few small things. Each vehicle does have a winch, and we have trends and maxtrax.
