My wife and I are planning several trips on the east coast and we currently live in the Seattle, WA. area. We both have families back there and want to incorporate our love for travel and overlanding into being able to visit family.
The drag on doing that is most trips are 2.5-3 days of flying across the states as fast as possible. Spending long hours on the road and getting little sleep so we can start our vacation when we arrive.
Does anyone ship their vehicle to a place and then fly in to pick it up? I have looked at some shipping companies, but none of them will lock up my overland rig (which I have invested a lot of money in) in a container to drop off somewhere.
I thought I would ask if I am just crazy for thinking this is an option to save some time so a two week trip on the east coast is not spent with half of it driving across the states.
