website has a valuable tool allowing you to establish gpx tracks even when there is only a goat trail the tool allows you to freehand draw the tracks
upload & download the map locally on your phone & no need for cell service just follow the blue track
I used it during an offgrid 3000mi off road trip around montana with little cell service - others had many forms of navigation & the system never faulted others got lost....
